Management of significant bone loss with sinus extended to distal of 12
Zygoma Case Report (20-03)
Overview
The following pictures correspond to a patient treated by Dr. Costa Nicolopoulos at SameDay Clinic, the ZAGA Center Dubai. The prosthetic work was performed by Dr. Fokion & Dr. Ramy. The patient presents a significant bone loss # 16-13 (3-7) and sinus extends to distal of #12 (7). Also, in this case, we are talking about a patient with a past medical-surgical history of larynx cancer (2017) treated with surgery & radiotherapy (DXT).
Dr. Costa Nicolopoulos tried bilateral ZYGAN implants but LHS had buccal-palatal mobility despite good primary stability. Also, OAC was inevitable on the left so he removed it but managed to perform internal sinus lift on the left & very good zygomatic bone on the right without OAC at the crest thanks to Versah/Densah zygomatic drills. All implants are > 100 N.cm primary stability.
In this case, we note that the optimized position of the zygomatic implant on the ridge is made possible by two elements: the 55º angle in the implant head (Southern Implants) and by following the ZAGA Concept.
