Education and Professional Background

Dr. Louie Al-Faraje is a globally recognized authority in oral implantology, having pioneered numerous classifications and surgical techniques that have become the standard in the field. With extensive clinical, academic, and research experience, he has dedicated his career to advancing implant dentistry through education and innovation. His California Implant Institute in San Diego, California, utilizes today’s most innovative and effective clinical solutions to create and maintain optimal oral health using dental implants and bone grafting procedures.

He completed his medical education at Kiev Medical School, Faculty of Stomatology, followed by postdoctoral training at Loma Linda University in California. Dr. Al-Faraje is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology and serves as the Academic Chairman of the California Implant Institute, a leading educational institution specializing in advanced implant training for clinicians.

Additionally, he is a board-certified, practicing oral implantologist in San Diego, California, as well as an author and educator who has presented hundreds of lectures and trained hundreds of dentists throughout the world.

Novadontics and Educational Contributions

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Al-Faraje is the founder of Novadontics, the first cloud-based practice management software tailored for implant and general dentists. The software brings its knowledge and expertise into the daily practice of clinicians through checklist guidance and innovative diagnostic tools, alongside expert consultations and an online continuing education platform. As an esteemed educator, Dr. Al-Faraje has trained hundreds of dentists globally through lectures, hands-on courses, and academic publications. He is the author of a bestselling textbook, Surgical Complications in Oral Implantology, published by Quintessence in 2011 and available in 7 languages, as well asOral Implantology Surgical Procedures Checklist (Quintessence, 2012), Clinical Anatomy for Oral Implantology, 2^nd Edition (Quintessence, 2021), and Oral Implantology Review, 2^nd Edition (Quintessence, 2023) and is on the editorial board of the Journal of Oral Implantology (JOI).
