Led by Dr. Carlos Aparicio (creator of the ZAGA Concept) with the participation of Dr. Adi Lorean (ZAGA Center Tel Aviv) and Dr. Amit Mistry (ZAGA Center Tamworth), the course offered a unique combination of theory, clinical insights, and extensive hands-on training on both Dental 3D Models and cryopreserved cadaver heads in which both participants and instructors enjoyed an unforgettable journey of 4 days of an incredible zygomatic and pterygoid implants experience.
The ZAGA team, along with Dr. Aparicio, would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dental 3D Models, Straumann and Bontempi for their invaluable support in making the event a success.

To ensure a fully inclusive learning experience, the entire ZAGA Course featured AI-powered simultaneous translation in all languages, enabling every participant to benefit from the lectures and discussions without any language barriers.

Participants ZAGA Course September 2025

Day 1 and 2 – Laying the Foundations and Surgical Protocols in Focus

The ZAGA Course September 2025 commenced with two days of a comprehensive introduction to the ZAGA Concept and the ORIS Success Code, setting the foundation for the days ahead. Participants reviewed evidence-based protocols and explored the advantages and challenges of intra- and extra-sinus techniques. Moreover, the participants were led through surgical procedures and an introduction to the zygomatic implant system.
Theoretical sessions were combined with practical training on anatomically precise dental 3D models generated from CBCT scans of real patients with zygomatic indications, providing participants with an authentic environment to apply the surgical principles discussed earlier in practice. This close interaction between theory and practice allowed clinicians to consolidate their skills with confidence.

Contributing to the ZAGA Social Program

To further enhance the Course Barcelona 2025, we offered participants the opportunity to support the ZAGA Social program, a community effort designed to help edentulous patients who face financial difficulties in obtaining zygomatic rehabilitation and to assist dental students eager to learn about zygomatic implant methods. Participants were encouraged to make a voluntary donation in return for the book by Dr. Carlos Aparicio, titled “Advanced Zygomatic Implants: The ZAGA Concept. ”

We would like to thank Dr. Amanda M Sheehan, Dr. Hungchai Lai, Dr. Mark Lawhon, Dr. Samir Kumar Pal, Dr. Bettinger Holger, and Dr. Paul Corpedian for their assistance with this social initiative. The total sum raised was an incredible 1.146€. Your kindness is a direct support to the ZAGA Social program, assisting edentulous patients who lack the means to receive fixed teeth.

Day 3 – Pterygomaxillary Implants and Complications

On the third day, Dr. Adi Lorean introduced participants to the anatomical and clinical aspects of pterygomaxillary implants. The program also addressed the management of complications associated with zygomatic implants, encouraging open discussion and critical analysis. Once again, these concepts were reinforced through hands-on sessions using patient-derived dental 3D models, ensuring that participants could effectively translate theoretical knowledge into practical surgical techniques.

Social Event and Diploma Ceremony

Social Media Contest Winner - ZAGA Cadaver Course September 2025

After the intensive 3rd day, participants came together for the course social event in Barcelona at the Hotel Duquesa de Cardona Barcelona. This evening created a relaxed atmosphere for networking, sharing experiences, and celebrating the successful completion of an intense week of training.
During the social event, all participants received a certificate for attending the ZAGA Course September 2025 edition, and an announcement was made regarding the winner of the social media contest, Dr. Gareth M. Jones.

Day 4 – Cadaver Training in Real Surgical Conditions

The final morning was devoted to cadaver training on cryopreserved heads at Hospital Clínic in Barcelona, with one maxillary quadrant allocated per participant to practice zygomatic and pterygoid implant placement. This practice provided the closest possible simulation of real surgical conditions, consolidating all the knowledge and skills developed during the ZAGA Course Barcelona 2025.
