Between October 7th and 10th, 2025, New York City became the stage for an event in zygomatic and remote anchorage solutions: a popular edition of the ZAGA Cadaver Course.

Led by Dr. Carlos Aparicio and Dr. Jay Neugarten, the four-day journey brought together dental professionals eager to learn and improve their experience in zygomatic and pterygoid implants.
This most recent ZAGA Course October 2025 in New York City stood out for its inspiring sessions, live surgeries, and exceptional hands-on training on 3D dental models and cryopreserved heads. All this was supported by AI-based simultaneous translation, allowing all participants to take part in all presentations regardless of language barriers.

Day 1-2 – Kicking Off in Midtown

The ZAGA Course New York 2025 opened at NYCOMS (New York Center for Orthognathic and Maxillofacial Surgery), certified ZAGA Center New York, on Madison Avenue with a deep dive into the ZAGA philosophy created by Dr. Carlos Aparicio. During his session, attendees reviewed the evidence-based protocols that support predictable results. Additionally, they had the opportunity to explore the surgical system, featuring the latest innovations from Straumann’s dental implant system.

After explaining the foundation concepts, the first practical session with dental 3D models was initiated, applying the theoretical knowledge into practical applications.

On the second day, the participants continued with ZAGA Classification system. Later, the session led by Dr. Jay Neugarten focused on remote anchorage solutions in the pterygomaxillary region, followed by workshops on live surgery preparation and practical model work that reinforced the morning’s lessons.

A New York Evening with Zygomatic Implants

As with every course, this ZAGA Course New York City 2025 also included time for networking and celebration. On the afternoon of the second day of the ZAGA course, participants, speakers, and their guests gathered for a social event. Surrounded by the energy of the city at 320 Park Events, they had the opportunity to relax, chat, and exchange experiences.
In addition, each attendee received a certificate confirming their attendance at the event.

Day 3 – Witnessing Zygomatic Surgery Up Close

The third day offered a highlight rarely available in training programs: a live surgery demonstration. Attendees observed, step by step, how ZAGA concepts guide decision-making in real time. During the session, two patients were operated on. The second, Julian, was treated as part of the ZAGA Social Program and will receive his prosthesis thanks to this initiative and the collaboration of Dr. Jay Neugarten (surgeon) and Dr. Anthony Sallustio (prosthodontist) from NYCOMS – ZAGA Center New York.
After the live surgery observation, guided by the faculty, participants worked intensively on 3D patient-based models, refining skills that would be tested in the cadaver lab the next day. This back-and-forth between theory and practice ensured the knowledge was not just learned, but absorbed.

Day 4 – Cadaver Lab in Hicksville

On the last day of the ZAGA Course October 2025, participants moved to Fusion Solutions in Hicksville, where they experienced the most accurate training environment possible: surgery on cryopreserved cadaver heads. Each attendee worked in a specific quadrant, practicing zygomatic and pterygoid implants placement under the close supervision of the faculty replicating the conditions of a real operating room. This was the moment when the four days of learning settled into surgical confidence.

Complexitiez Symposium 2025 – The Day After

The ZAGA Cadaver Course in New York City 2025 was a success. Still, even though the course ended on October 11, 2025, just one day after the cadaver course concluded, many participants attended the Global Zygomatic & Remote Anchorage Complications Symposium 2025 at the FIDI Banking Hall.

This international meeting brought together leaders such as Dr. Carlos Aparicio, Dr. Jay Neugarten, Dr. Costa Nicolopoulos, Dr. Dan Holtzclaw, Dr. Anthony Sallustio, Dr. Tommaso Grandi, Dr. Vishtasb Broumand, and Dr. Salomão Ostetto. Through lectures, real-life case studies, and a final roundtable discussion, attendees explored complication management strategies and shared practical solutions with colleagues from around the world.

Together, the ZAGA Cadaver Course in New York City and the Complexitiez 2025 Symposium created an extraordinary week of training, reflection, and collaboration between the best professionals in the field and participants eager to learn more about full mouth rehabilitations. If you missed them, you still have the opportunity to attend one of the following editions of the ZAGA Courses and trainings.
