Dr. Luc Vrielinck is a recognized leading expert in maxillofacial surgery with over two decades of specialized experience in zygomatic and pterygoid implants, particularly for patients with severe maxillary atrophy. Since 1989, he has operated at his private practice at Ziekenhuis Oost Limburg in Genk, Belgium, where he has helped thousands of patients restore both function and aesthetics through advanced implant techniques. His innovative approach to complex cases has established him as a trusted authority in the field, not only in Belgium but also internationally.

Throughout his career, Dr. Vrielinck has been at the forefront of digital and computer-guided implantology, contributing significantly to the development of implant planning technologies. He was an early adopter of stereolithographic drill guides and collaborated closely with industry leaders such as Nobel Biocare and Materialise to advance guided surgery techniques. His research is focused on enhancing precision in implant placement, reducing complications, and improving long-term patient outcomes. His pioneering studies on Perizygomatic Inflammation have shed light on this previously underexplored complication, making his work essential for practitioners focused on zygomatic implants.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Vrielinck is an influential educator and researcher, sharing his knowledge through numerous publications and specialized training courses. He has published extensively, with over 20 peer-reviewed articles addressing the accuracy of guided surgery and long-term results of zygomatic implants. As a founding member of the Belgian Society for Oral Implantology and an honorary member of the Computer-Aided Implantology Academy, Dr. Vrielinck is dedicated to advancing the field and supporting the next generation of maxillofacial surgeons. His practice, recognized as Certified ZAGA Scientific Partner Genk in 2024 from the International ZAGA Network,  is a testament to his commitment to exceptional patient care and continual innovation.

We are more than honored by Dr. Vrienlinck’s commitment to the International ZAGA Network, bringing with him years of experience and excellent outcomes in addressing complex, severe maxillary atrophy cases.
