Under the guidance of Prof Michele Di Cosola, a zygomatic implant expert, the distinguished University of Foggia became a ZAGA Scientific Partner in Puglia in November 2022. About Dr Michele Di Cosola
Dr Michele Di Cosola is a university researcher and expert in Zygomatic Implants. He is a professor at the University of Foggia, ZAGA Scientific Partner Puglia. He is an author of over 100 scientific publications in national and international journals and an international speaker.
Implantology and anatomical dissection training in Foggia
Since 2008 Dr Di Cosola has taught on the University of Foggia’s oral surgery specialisation and on its international course in implantology and anatomical dissection. Dissection-based teaching matters in zygomatic surgery, where the implant path runs close to the orbit, the infratemporal fossa and the maxillary sinus. ZAGA runs its own cadaver course on zygomatic and pterygoid implants for the same reason.
Clinical work in Bari
Alongside his university role, Dr Di Cosola is scientific director and head of the dentistry unit at the Villa Pompea Clinic in Bari. His clinical focus there is pre-implant regeneration of hard and soft tissue and zygomatic surgery. He specialised with honours in maxillofacial surgery at the University of Bari in 2007 and has taught oral surgery at the Complutense University of Madrid since 2004. He is a Fellow of the European Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a member of the Italian Society of Maxillofacial Surgery (SICMF).
