Dr. Sellick initially pursued laboratory medicine, gaining in-depth knowledge of human pathophysiology, microbiology, and biochemistry. His dedication to clinical excellence led him to dentistry, where he graduated with honours before specializing in prosthodontics. His doctoral research focused on using micro-CT technology to compare genuine and non-genuine implant components.

He is a Fellow of the ITI, the immediate past-President of the Australian Prosthodontic Society (SA Branch), and currently serves as Education Delegate for the ITI Australasia Leadership Team.
